===== General Job Description: =====

The GIS Specialist is responsible for the maintenance of geospatial data, as well as, the design and creation of digital products such as maps, display, and reports

===== Responsibilities: =====

  * Designs and creates maps, presentation material, documents, databases and other digital products utilizing GIS knowledge and skills
  * Communicates problems, identifies deficiencies and suggests solutions to GIS data related issues
  * Performs quality control and assurance checks on various datasets to ensure it meets the client’s specifications and/or standard
  * Providing GIS expertise and advice to clients
  * Applying combinations of scripts and GIS tools to input data in order execute spatial analyses and generate new information
  * Applying mathematical and statistical functions to datasets to model geographic relationships

===== Requirements: =====

  * Proficient in English with good writing and reading skills
  * Graduation from an accredited post-secondary GIS program
  * 3 to 5 years experience and knowledge using the ESRI suite of products including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, Collector for ArcGIS, and FME
  * Creating cartographic production, data compilation/editing/creation, geodatabase design & creation, GIS analysis, geoprocessing, georeferencing, data conversion & metadata implementation
  * Creating maps to publish to ArcGIS Server and/or ArcGIS Online for use in Mobile & Internet based GIS
  * Advanced editing, geoprocessing, manipulating, querying & summarizing of data
  * Understanding of RDBMS principles and SQL
  * Programming skills in Python and other languages
  * Clear communicator with good interpersonal skills
  * Strong analytic and management skills
  * High attention to details
  * Self-motivated and able to work remotely
